Capturing the subtlety of pencil on paper with a camera is difficult.

Conversely, I discovered marks on the paper my eyes can no longer see. As I get older, my eyes can no longer see some pencil lines, especially while sketching, when you want to keep things light & loose.

It becomes very challenging just to see the tip of my pencil and where it sits in relation to the line I am currently making if I don’t have the proper lighting, so I find drawing under the sun is as bright as it gets.

The Porsche is drawn on 10×14, 140lb watercolor paper using a 6H to cut the tooth, a 2H to develop the tone, and charcoal pencils to achieve the non-reflecting shadows,
